About Project

The Nalgad Hydropower Project is located on Nalgad River in Jajarkot District in the Karnali Province of Nepal. Nalgad is one of the main tributaries of Bheri River. The project is a storage type with 210m RCC Dam and storage volume 474 million cubic meter (MCM). The installed capacity of the project is 417 MW and the generated electricity will be transmitted through 400 KV transmission line from Nalgad Hub-substation to the Maintada substation at Surkhet District. The length of tunnel is approx. 8.5 km. The Dam will be constructed at Barekot Rural Municipality and powerhouse at Dalli, Nalgad Municipality.
